NCS Swimmers strike Gold in Fiji

August 26, 2018 by Bill Martin

NCS contingent: Sarah Holman, Ross Dant, Olivia Carter, Tim Connery

Team USA dominated the 2018 Junior Pan Pacific Championships with valuable contributions from three NCS athletes, Ross Dant (YSST), Olivia Carter (EAC) and Tim Connery (MAC).   Sarah Holman represented NCS as a member of the Junior PanPac coaching staff.  The team won 27 gold, 19 silver, and 8 bronze medals en route to the men’s, women’s, and overall championships.

On the meet’s final day Ross Dant of YSST picked up where he left off the previous day with his second gold medal performance.  Following his win in the 400 free on Saturday, Dant won the 800 free.  Earlier he won bronze in the 1500 free.

It was an outstanding meet for the entire North Carolina contingent. Olivia Carter raced to a gold medal in the 200 fly on the meets opening day and finished fourth in the 100 fly.

Tim Connery also had a great meet, recording one of the top times in the 100 back and finishing fifth in the 100 breast.
