North Carolina Swimming is happy to announce that the Back in the Swim COVID-19 Relief Program meet scheduling section has been extended through March 31, 2021. Initially the program was planned to expire on December 31, but with the current state of the pandemic and the ongoing uncertainty, the eased requirements for submitting sanction requests have been extended. All other elements of the program remain the same.
- Clubs may reschedule meets or add incremental meets without scheduling approval.
- Sanction requests for meets through March 31 must be submitted at least 14 days prior to the first day of the competition.
- Meet recons must be submitted to Barb at least 7 days prior to the first day of the competition. A $500 recon late fee remains in effect.
- Teams needing to cancel or reschedule meets due to facility closures or government mandates may do so without penalty.
NCS Back in the Swim COVID -19 Relief Program
The situation will be reevaluated toward the end of the current short course season but the plan is that sanction requests for all meets scheduled during the 2021 long course season beginning on April 1, 2021 (regardless of meet classification) must be submitted at least 30 days prior to the first day of the competition.
Assuming things are back to normal following the 2021 long course season, the published NCS sanction rules will be reinstated for meets scheduled during the 2021-22 short course season, beginning Sept 1, 2021.
