Hannah Moore wins bronze at Worlds

July 18, 2019 by Bill Martin

North Carolina Swimming athlete Hannah Moore (WOLF) tied for the bronze medal, while another NCS athlete and USA teammate Ashley Twichell (TAC) placed seventh in the women’s 5k open water event Wednesday at the 18th FINA World Championships at the Yeosu Expo Ocean Park in South Korea.

Moore completed the swim in 57 minutes, 58 seconds, only one second behind silver medalist Aurelie Muller of France (57:57) and two seconds behind gold medalist Ana Marcela Cunha of Brazil (57:56). Germany’s Leonie Beck also finished in 57:58 to tie with Moore. Twichell touched only four seconds behind the winner in 58:00 in a tightly packed finish.
