The Carolinas Diversity Camp will be held at the Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center, 800 East Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Charlotte, NC on April 4 & 5, 2020.
A partnership between North and South Carolina (The Carolinas) will bring this exciting opportunity for underrepresented populations in our sport. Swimmers and coaches from all backgrounds will be invited to the two day clinic to network, find common solutions, and celebrate all this sport brings to everyone.
Boys and girls ages 13-17 from both North Carolina and South Carolina will be selected from applicants by the camp staff of volunteer coaches and administrators. Guest speakers include Wingate University swimming coach, Kirk Sanocki, and Charlotte educator, Maurice Walker. Campers will stay at the nearby Hilton Garden Inn on Saturday night.
All swimmers must be USA Swimming members (registered in NC or SC) and from an underrepresented ethnic group. Swimmers must have a “B” time standard from the 2017-20 USA Swimming Motivational Time Standards in at least one event.
The Camp Fee is $50 (Only checks for athletes selected to the camp will be cashed.)
