NSEA to host Swimclusion Run
NSEA SWIM will be hosting their 2nd annual 5K on April 23rd in Wilmington, NC. The 5K will be run through historical downtown Wilmington. All proceeds from the 5K will benefit the free swim lesson program at the Northside at the Earl Jackson pool. For more information on the free swim lesson program you can go to www.nseaswim.com

The 2022 Carolina Crown will be held at the Greenville County Aquatic Complex, 2700 West Blue Ridge Drive (SC Highway 253) Greenville, SC 29611 on Saturday, April 23, 2022. The meet will be hosted by South Carolina Swimming and will feature top age 15-18 swimmers from North Carolina and South Carolina.
- Athlete check-in: 10:00 am
- Coaches arrive: 9:00 am
- Warm-ups: 11:00-11:45 am
- Meet begins: 12:00 noon
- Medals to Top-8 swimmers in individual events; Top-3 relays.
- Winning squad athletes and coaches receive a towel at the conclusion of the meet.

Collin Davis on USA Deaf National Team
Collin Davis, currently swimming for East Carolina Aquatics (ECA) has been named to the USA Deaf National Team and will compete this May in the Deaflympics in Caxias du Sol, Brazil. Congratulations and good luck at the meet! To learn more visit the USA Deaf Swim website.
Gaston Gators earn Safe Sport Club Recognition
The Gaston Gators (GG) earn Safe Sport Club Recognition Status
Congratulations to the Gaston Gators (GG), the latest North Carolina Swimming club to earn USA Swimming’s new Safe Sport Club Recognition! The Safe Sport Club Recognition program distinguishes USA Swimming clubs that demonstrate their commitment to creating safe, healthy, and positive environments for all of their members through the development and implementation of Athlete Protection Policies, Safe Sport Best Practices, and Safe Sport education.
The Gaston Gators have been highlighted as a Safe Sport Recognized Club with a banner on its team listing in the USA Swimming Find-a-Team Search and will receive a medallion for their club’s website as well. Clubs can apply for the Safe Sport Recognized Club program through their Club Portal on the USA Swimming website. NCS Short Course record update
New Wave swimmers Drew Sito and Sam Marsteiner each broke a record at the NCS Age Group Champs meet this past weekend. Sito broke the boys 11-12 50 back record while Marsteiner added the boys 13-14 200 free to his list of NCS records.
In the women’s 15-18 age group, Caroline Pennington broke the 1650 free record and Claire Curzan bettered her records in the 100 back and 100 fly at the 4A High School state championships last week. Her time of 49.24 in the 100 fly was also an NCS Open record.
Collegiate swimmers from NC State also broke several North Carolina Swimming short course records at the ACC championships in Atlanta. Aiden Hayes broke the men’s 15-18 records in both the 50 free and the 200 fly while NC State teammate Arsenio Bustos broke the Open record in the 200 breast. In the women’s division, Katharine Berkoff of NC State set new NCS Open records in the 100 free and 100 back while another Wolfpack swimmer, Sophie Hansson, broke her own NCS Open records in both the 100 breast and the 200 breast. Berkoff was joined by Kylee Alons, Abby Arens, and Annabel Crush in establishing a new mark in the Open 400 free relay.

2022 Carolina Crown
REGISTRATION IS CLOSED
The annual Carolina Crown Swim Challenge will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at the Westside Aquatic Facility in Greenville, South Carolina. This is the seventh Carolina Crown and will feature top 15-18 year-old athletes from North Carolina and South Carolina.
Top 20 ranked NCS male swimmers and the Top 20 ranked NCS female swimmers in ages 15, 16, 17, and 18 based on times achieved between 9/1/21 and 3/20/22 in contested events will be on the qualifier list for North Carolina. From this list North Carolina will select 60 male swimmers and 60 female swimmers based on date of registration and payment. Selection will be on a first come, first served basis, so you are urged to get your registrations in early if you would like to attend. Registration will be closed when the meet reaches capacity. South Carolina will also select 60 male and 60 female participants using the same selection process.
The qualifier list along with athlete registration forms will be posted on or around March 21, 2022.
Selections will be posted on April 4, 2022 or sooner if the meet has reached capacity.

TAC Titans set NAG mixed relay record
The TAC Titans recently set the National Age Group Record in the 11-12 400-yard mixed medley relay.
The Titans team of Sloane Whelehan, Oliver Marrujo, Jonny Palamar, and Carolin He, swam the relay in a record time of 3:55.19.
