CONGRATULATIONS TRISTAN FORMON

Congratulations to Tristan Formon (New WAVE Coach / NCS Coaches Rep) on being selected as the National Age Group Development Committee Chair. Tristan states “I am tremendously honored to serve as the next Chair of the USA Swimming National Age Group Committee.”
As a committee we look to build upon the efforts of Liz Kershaw and Kevin Milak, the last two chairs and their respective committee’s work. In conjunction with the USA Swimming Staff, we will continue to strive to support clubs, coaches and LSC’s, providing the necessary tools and programs to enable them to better engage and provide for their families, athletes, and members.
“It has always been my firm belief that swimming is a sport for all. My goal remains to provide the very best opportunities and experience for all athletes, non athletes, and club members.”
MISSION STATEMENT:
To plan for the needs of the Age Group level of our sport. To generate, evaluate, and communicate ideas, which will assist USA Swimming in planning and developing quality age group swimming programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
To conduct an ongoing evaluation of the local and national age-group programs.
To develop and submit proposals to provide for the long-range planning of age-group swimming.
To encourage the development of programs that promote participation.
To oversee recognition for age group swimmers.
To communicate with and provide education and direction for the age group chairs in each LSC.
To develop programs to assist athletes in transitioning from Age Group to Senior.
To advise and consult with the Sports Development Division regarding camps, including open water.
To promote the inclusion of open water at all levels, including LSC competitions, LSC championships, and Zone meets.
