NCS meet officials were well-represented by Trish Martin, Lisa Olack, and Dave Olack at the FINA World Cup in Indianapolis this past week.
New Officials Tracking System (OTS)
With the introduction of SWIMS 3.0, USA Swimming has a new method for crediting meet officials for the sessions they work. Below are instructions for the new Officials Tracking System (OTS). If you are a meet referee and the Officials tab doesn’t show up on your SWIMS 3.0 menu, contact John Jewell to give you access.
2022 Winter Juniors in Greensboro
The USA Swimming Speedo Winter Junior Championship short course meet will be held at the Greensboro Aquatic Center on December 7-10, 2022.
2022 NCS AWARDS BANQUET
North Carolina Swimming held its Awards Banquet on Saturday, October 1 at the McKimmon Center in Raleigh. The event followed the NCS All Star Clinic, with U.S. Olympic Gold Medalist Cody Miller as its guest clinician. Coaches Amy Faulk, Alan Pfau, and Rob Norman assisted at the clinic.

All Star Clinic/Banquet Video
NCS General Chair Trish Martin welcomed the crowd of 300 athletes, parents, and coaches. Cody Miller was also the guest speaker at the banquet and Coach Jonathan Watson served as Master of Ceremonies. Following a very entertaining and inspirational speech on Cody’s journey from age group swimmer to Olympic Champion, coaches Amy Faulk, Jon Jolley, and Steve Romito presented the awards.

2023 IMX CAMP: Qualifiers & Application
Below are the IMX rankings for the 2022 Long Course season for NCS registered 10, 11, 12, and 13-year-old swimmers. To have been ranked, athletes must have completed all the IMX events during the 2022 long course season. The top-20 athletes in each age/gender group are invited to attend the 2023 IMX CAMP to be held on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.

The 21st-25th ranked athletes on the lists are alternates and will be offered space in the camp should any of the top-20 decline their spot.
The cost to attend the IMX Camp is $105 per swimmer. The application form includes a link to the PayPal page. Alternates should not submit payment unless they are notified that they have been added to the roster. No refunds will be given for camp cancellations after November 10, 2022. The deadline for submitting applications is Tuesday, November 8, 2022.

2023 NCS short course champs: time standards
We’re #1: Scholastic All America
Nationally, 1,281 swimmers were named to the 2022 USA Swimming Scholastic All America team. Scholastic All America recognizes achievement both in the pool and in the classroom.
Once again, North Carolina Swimming led the country with 99 swimmers named to the 2022 roster!

The top two USA Swimming clubs in the country were NCS clubs! Swim MAC Carolina was the #1 club in the country with 28 athletes on the roster. The TAC Titans were #2 in the country with 24. Congratulations to all the outstanding scholar-athletes who earned this prestigious honor!
NCS athletes named to National Select Camp
USA Swimming announced the names of 102 up-and-coming athletes selected for the prestigious 2022 National Select Camp, to be held in-person at the United States Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The camps will run October 6-9, 2022 (girls) and October 13-16, 2022 (boys).
NCS athletes selected to attend are Meredith Whelehan (TAC), Clarke Neace (MAC), Nicole Zettel (TAC), Avery Klamfoth (MAC), Matthew Marsteiner (WAVE), Fredrick Klein (MAC), and Lucca Battaglini (ECA).
“We are proud to be back on site at the USOPC Training Center here in Colorado,” said Mariejo Truex, Senior Director, Team Services, Coach and Athlete Development for USA Swimming. “These camps provide a priceless opportunity for athletes from across the United States to learn from top high-performance professionals and connect with one another, which will help their development both in and out of the water.”
Numerous current National Team members and 2020 Tokyo Olympians have previously attended the National Select Camps, including Katie Ledecky, Michael Andrew, Lilly King, Hali Flickinger, Kieran Smith and Bobby Finke.

The 2022 North Carolina Swimming Fall HOD will be held at the McKimmon Center in Raleigh on Sunday, Oct 2 at 1:00 PM. Only those in attendance at the meeting will be casting votes. There will not be a virtual option.
The HOD Meeting Schedule has been posted on the NCS website.
Pre-register your delegates by following the step-by-step instructions below.
- You must declare your club’s delegates to Barb Frith by Thursday, Sept 29th.
- Please check the Delegate per Club Count List for the number of non-athlete delegates you are permitted to name for your club. Each club also may name one athlete delegate.
- Send an email to Barb Frith at pfr…@mac.com and include:
- Name for each non-athlete delegate who will be attending.
- Name for your athlete delegate who will be attending.
- This information is due to Barb no later than Thursday, Sept 29th.
- PLEASE NOTE that all declared delegates must be USA Swimming members in good standing on Oct 2, 2022. Please check your club portal for any membership issues your delegates need to address before Sept 29th.
- Delegates MAY NOT vote by proxy. They must attend HOD meeting on October 2nd at 1:00 PM to cast their votes.
