There was some fast swimming at the 2018 Carolina Crown Swim Challenge this past weekend at the Greensboro Aquatic Center. It was a fun meet, where swimmers from North Carolina and South Carolina were divided into four teams – Black Diamond, Ruby, Emerald, and Sapphire. Each team was outfitted with a team cap and shirts. Volunteer coaches from both LSCs led their teams during the fast-moving meet. Over thirty officials from both states, as well as a host of volunteers, were assembled to make the meet run smoothly. Dave Thomas of USA Swimming was on hand as the meet announcer and kept things lively. When it was over, team Ruby emerged as the winner, followed by team Emerald, team Black Diamond, and team Sapphire. Nine new meet records were set, including new records in both the men’s and women’s 200 Free Relays. New meet records included:
